While I’ve worked with people across the lifespan, I specialize in work around identity development and life transitions. As a cis, gay man, I find my work with other LGBT and queer people particularly rewarding.
Collaborative relationships are at the core of my practice. I believe that the partnership between you – the expert on your wellbeing – and me – a trained and experienced clinician – will produce the discovery of fresh understandings. I work from an integrated approach - drawing on various theoretical perspectives as they most align with my client’s needs and concerns. My work integrates CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, DBT, Internal Family Systems, relational psychodynamic, Emotion Focused Therapy, and person-centered approaches.
In addition to the pride and work I put into this practice, I serve as clinical faculty at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. A former member of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Institute (SOGI) and staff psychologist at the Center on Halsted, I continue to provide supervision to graduate students. I’ve been featured in a variety of news outlets including NPR, NBC, Chicago Tribune, WGN News, Newsy, and Columbus Dispatch. I trained at The Ohio State University, University of Virginia, and Sarah Lawrence College and have worked onsite at Google and Uber headquarters.
