For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to the phenomenon of resilience - how humans manage to not only endure pain, but often grow from it.

Before starting therapy, I find that so many folks try to change themselves or solve their problems using grit and discipline. I think the work of therapy, then, encourages people to step away from that struggle and instead start by accepting themselves and their experience just as they are in the moment. Launching from that starting point and honing in on each client’s personal goals, therapists offer validation and feedback on patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Through this process, clients shift into coping more effectively, achieving personal growth, and feeling more confident in their ability to face future challenges - all of which ultimately improves their social and emotional wellbeing.

I work with adolescents and adults as an individual and family therapist. As an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, I provide therapeutic coaching to adults newly diagnosed with ADHD to develop strategies to more easily manage daily responsibilities. I am also passionate about empowering parents/caregivers of teens with mental health concerns through parent coaching or therapy.

I take a strengths-based, transdiagnostic treatment approach in my work with clients, applying research-backed strategies that address underlying mechanisms of psychological symptoms rather than treating standalone diagnoses. I draw from DBT, CBT, exposure and response prevention, and emotion-focused family therapy. More personally, my values of authenticity and connection strengthen my commitment to being fully present for clients and being myself in the therapy room. In this way, I hope to create a dynamic space that embraces imperfection and approaches obstacles with humor, patience, and curiosity.

After graduating from Elon University, I obtained my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Virginia and completed my pre-doctoral internship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I worked in intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs as part of my postdoctoral fellowship at Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center. Informed by my graduate research on systems of oppression and inequality, I joined Northwestern’s clinical psychology internship training committee, reflecting my commitment to utilize a social justice framework in order to provide culturally competent care.  I hold an appointment as clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine.
