Therapy empowers people to get unstuck from the problems they are struggling with the most.

It’s a safe, confidential place in which I work collaboratively with you to discover new ways of acting and thinking that improve your emotional wellbeing.  My passion for working with people drew me into the mental health field.  It’s also at the core of my warm, empathic approach.  My training and experience taught me to apply empirically supported treatments and brain-based understandings to help you achieve success.

Specialties:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Stress and Performance
  • Men's Issues
  • Substance Abuse
  • Neuropsychology

I’ve worked with individuals, families and couples across various ages including adults and adolescents.

I work within a CBT framework but pull from DBT and person-centered approaches. I help people to get unstuck. I think one of the best ways to help people address the distress in their life is by first learning and understanding how the distress started. I think when we can gain an understanding of why we’ve been stuck in the first place we are not only able to intervene and or cope with what led to the distress, but we can also learn how to prevent ourselves from getting back there again.

I received an M.A. in clinical professional psychology from Roosevelt University, and am currently completing my Psy.D. in clinical psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. I’ve worked in a variety of settings including the University of Chicago Medical Center, Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, private behavioral health residential facilities, addiction treatment centers, and neuropsychology centers.

I’ve been a featured mental health expert on WGN News, FOX News, and NBC News and have been published in the Daily Herald, Chicago Tribune, and Healthline.  Additionally, I have provided healthcare consultation to schools around the country (California, Texas, New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Maine, Illinois and around the world (Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland).
