Therapy is your space to process thoughts and experiences, celebrate your strengths, and explore your relationship with yourself and with others.

For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in understanding people. And I have always found that the most fulfilling parts of my job were in building relationships and supporting my colleagues in navigating their professional and personal journeys.  After finding my way to being a therapist, I have nurtured a strong belief that therapy can bring people closer to developing compassion and understanding for ourselves and each other. It can help you reconnect with the parts of you that you have yet to know, want to know more, or maybe even have some trepidation about. It is your space to be curious, reflective, and messy – to help you access your Self and reclaim a meaningful life.

I work with adults across the lifespan, both individuals and couples. I understand the significance that culture, identities, and relationships have in how we see ourselves and move through the world and have experience working with adults and teens from diverse backgrounds across race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, culture, and family. As a first generation Filipina, I find work around identity development and personal expression to be particularly rewarding.

I believe a collaborative relationship grounded in mutual respect, open-mindness, and honesty is essential to change. I view you - the client - as the expert in your experiences; I am there to make space for you.

I take an integrative approach knowing that each person’s needs and preferences are not the same. I draw from trauma-informed, humanistic, psychodynamic relational, and liberatory frameworks to foster self-awareness, resilience, vulnerability, and growth. I also like to include other modalities such as Internal Family Systems and somatic practices. Furthermore, I have a background in writing, comedy, and performance and enjoy incorporating creative self-expression and movement into sessions.

As my client, you can expect warmth, reflection, silence, and an appropriately healthy dose of humor in our time together.

In addition to my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University, I hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in anthropology from American University. When I’m not at Tandem, I continue to work in the nonprofit space as a communications manager.
