When stress intensifies, the amygdala becomes more active. The amygdala helps detect threat and mobilize survival responses.   • Mindfulness – Mindfulness helps you notice internal experience without immediately reacting to it. Many people cannot strengthen emotional regulation skills if they are chronically exhausted.
  • Nutrition and hydration – Blood sugar instability, dehydration, and long gaps without food can all make regulation harder.
